About the group

The Fort Worth Writers are a creative and stimulating group for Texas writers. Since 1992, weekly meetings have provided a positive and friendly environment for members to discuss publication, hone their craft, and polish manuscripts.

Meetings are open to writers of all genres: mystery, romance, suspense, thrillers, science fiction, children’s literature, nonfiction, and more.

Work in the form of novels, poetry, short stories, magazine articles, songs, verse, or any other form of composition is welcome.

How a meeting works

Five pages.
Many perspectives.

01

Bring your pages

Members submit up to five pages in a familiar manuscript format and provide copies for written notes.

02

Read aloud

Hear the rhythm of your own work and let the room experience the piece as you intended it.

03

Get feedback

A board member moderates focused, respectful conversation about character, plot, style, and structure.
